… but this still sounds a little suspect to us.

Despite separation rumors last month, Will Smith pulled out the stops for Jada Pinkett Smith’s 40th birthday. On Sept. 17, Will, 43, threw Jada an intimate bash — complete with an hourlong tribute video chronicling his wife’s entire life.

“Will treated it like a Hollywood production and had the best people work on it for months,” an insider tells Us Weekly. He even had his wife’s childhood pals from Baltimore supply pictures and anecdotes about his wife. “Jada was shocked!”
