The Battle fields By Sam Adeyemi

Ephesians 6: 10-12 & 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5

As we engage in spiritual warfare, we need to properly understand the landscape of the battlefield. It is very important that we realise that our enemies in this conflict are not other human beings who may be used as agents, platforms or part of the terrain where we wage this warfare, but our enemies are principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age and wicked spirits in heavenly places (Ephesians 6: 10-12). The first terrain for spiritual warfare is the heavenly places. We are in conflict with Satan and other demonic entities who belong to a hierarchy in Satan’s kingdom (listed above). He also has other beings that he deploys on his assignments. We are dealing with demonic entities that operate in our world but their main domicile is described as the “heavenly places”.
REV
Daniel had been praying and fasting for three weeks but the day the angel showed up with the answer, he told Daniel that from the very first day Daniel prayed, he had been dispatched with the answer which included revelations about future world events. On his way to Daniel, he confronted a demonic entity called the prince or principality of Persia, who was only defeated after Archangel Michael came to help the angel. (Daniel 10: 10-20).  Satan has deployed territorial spirits over different geographic locations, estates, cities, nations and even continents. This explains why, in some instances, there are results or scenarios which are consistent across particular locations because Satan influences the events.

Mary J. Blige Sued for Skipping Concert Date

Promoter claims MJB pocketed $145k but never performed.

Mary J. Blige
With so many outstanding debts hanging in the balance, the last thing Mary J. Blige needs right now is another lawsuit. A promotional company filed legal documents against the Queen of Hip Hop Soul for allegedly pocketing over $100,000 in show money and never performing.

Blige was booked to sing in Dallas last year and abruptly pulled out days in advance. Vision Entertainment Worldwide claims they paid the 42-year-old $145,000 to contract her for the Dec. 9 event. Blige promoted the appearance, then bailed in lieu of a Dec. 8 Brooklyn gig with the Rolling Stones.

Despite walking from the contract, VEW says the Grammy winner never gave the money back, which she denies. "Mary J. did not breach any contract for a Dallas concert last December," a rep said. "Any claims to the contrary is false."

The company wants a minimum of $145,000 to settle the discrepancy, but they may want to get in line behind all of her other debtors. Aside from VEW's allegations, Blige owes the IRS millions and has been sued for defaulting on a couple of bank loans.

Italian designers Dolce&Gabbana sentenced to prison for tax evasion

Italian fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the men behind fashion power house, Dolce & Gabbana were today June 19th sentenced to one year and eight months in prison by an Italian court after being found guilty of tax evasion. They were also fined €500,000.

The multimillionaire designers were accused of hiding millions of euros from Italian tax authorities, charges they deny and have said they intend to appeal against any conviction.

Italian authorities are accusing them of moving their brand to a Luxembourg-based holding company Gado - in 2004, so they could avoid declaring taxes on royalties of about 1 billion euros.

The Italian authorities have been investigating the designers for about six years now and they were actually cleared of tax evasion/fraud charges at a previous trial in April 2011 but Italy's highest court overturned that ruling, ordering that the case be sent back to trial.

Their sentences have been suspended pending their appeal.

This is according to LindaIkeji.blogspot.com

Wizkid and his manger Godwin Tom were invited by men of the Nigeria Police Force -  Zone 2 Command, Onikan, today June 19th after students of the University of Lagos reported the music star to the police.

The students claim that Wizkid collected N500, 000 from them as full payment for a show that was supposed to hold at UNILAG Sports Centre on May 21st tagged Concert of Life. They claim Wizkid didn't show up for the show and didn't return their money so they went to the police.

Guaranty Trust Bank: Would You Rather Work With Them? (A Victimised Former Staff Tells It All)

By Junaid Korede Agbabiaka

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) is a bank that prides itself as a foremost Nigerian financial institution that fosters a culture of openness in which healthy debate is encouraged. Over the last two decades, the bank has grown from strength to strength thus making it a preferred institution for young Nigerians who aspire to become seasoned bankers.
Why join GTBank?
On the bank’s website, it justifies the reason to work for the bank by stating that “We are, first and foremost, a Learning Organization. We understand that being an employer of choice goes beyond the regular pay package. It involves listening, training, mentoring, a genuine concern for what people really care about, and acting upon them. In essence, it involves connecting to people’s hearts.” Superb! No better way to introduce this great institution to an aspiring or established professional in Nigeria’s banking sector.
The bank doesn’t stop at that; it goes on to say that “a career at Guaranty Trust Bank offers you a chance to make a difference in your life and the lives of people in your immediate community. Throughout our history, we have continued to help our staff realize their dreams, whilst creating opportunities for them to fulfill their personal and professional potential.”

Confederations Cup: Nigeria start Group B campaign with 6-1 thrashing of Tahiti

Uwa Elderson Echiejile: Celebrates after scoring the opening goal
Uwa Elderson Echiejile: Celebrates after scoring the opening goal

Tahiti's first taste of a major tournament was as chastening as had been predicted as Nigeria wracked up a 6-1 win with early and late bursts in Belo Horizonte.
With Tahiti having taken a squad to the Confederations Cup that is so inexperienced some of them do not have jobs let alone professional contracts, a resounding Nigerian win was always on the cards and so it played out.

They were three up after 25 minutes - AC Milan's Nnamdi Oduamadi scoring the first two instalments of his hat-trick following an early own goal from Nicolas Vallar - before the most popular goal of the night from Jonathan Tehau saw Tahiti make it 3-1 in the 59th minute.
But, for all Tahiti's commendable spirit, their ball retention was poor and their defending dire, meaning Nigeria had three further goals to come
- from Elderson Echiejile, Oduamadi and another own goal from Tehau - as time and again they found themselves free in the area.

With everything stacked against them Tahiti could have at least hoped for good fortune but, with five minutes gone, Echiejile's off-target shot was diverted into his own goal by Vallar.
Marama Vahirua tried to respond with a rising effort that was tipped over but not deemed as a corner, before it became 2-0 with 10 minutes gone as Oduamadi cashed in after some errant passing between the Tahiti defenders.

It looked like they were going to score with every attack, although Ahmed Musa had an airshot when presented with an open goal, before Oduamadi made it three when keeper Xavier Samin coughed up a regulation cross. He redeemed himself as he denied Oduamadi a hat-trick, while at the other end Steevy Chong Hue punched the ground after he headed over from a yard.

The minnows would get their moment, though, as Vahirua's corner found Tehau and he nodded in at the back post with 54 minutes gone. Nigeria had a fallow period in attack after that before Oduamadi was denied his third once again by the offside flag.

A fourth goal did come with 68 minutes on the clock as Tehau prodded in ahead of his own keeper, before Oduamadi finally got his treble when he slotted in from a John Obi Mikel cross.
A sixth goal would arrive too, Echiejile cracking in the loose ball from a cross.

Adele honored by Queen Elizabeth II

Adele is getting a new medal to go alongside her Grammys and Academy Award — an honor from Queen Elizabeth II. The "Rumor Has It" and "Skyfall" singer was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire, or MBE, on Friday in the queen's annual Birthday Honors list.

Her award, for services to music, caps 12 months in which the 25-year-old singer won an Oscar for her James Bond theme song and gave birth to her first child.
The twice-yearly royal honors lists reward hundreds of people for services to their community or national life. Most go to people who are not in the limelight, but there is also a sprinkling of famous faces.

Adele wasn't the only honoree connected to "Skyfall," the 23rd James Bond thriller and the most lucrative film in the series' 50-year history. Cinematographer Roger Deakins was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire, or CBE, in recognition of a career that has gained him 10 Oscar nominations for films including "No Country for Old Men," ''Revolutionary Road" and "The Shawshank Redemption."
The list includes a knighthood for Tony Robinson, an actor and political activist best known as dim sidekick Baldrick from the comic TV series "Blackadder." He was honored for his political work and public service.

Raising A Daniel Generation by Nike Adeyemi

Daniel 1: 3-9, 19-20

What do you see whenever you look at a child? Do you only see the physical features or do you see the potentials in them? It is important to have a picture of what they can become later in life. Do not just focus on the present because God also sees us in the light of what He has called us to be. Every child needs to be guided and trained so that they grow up to become responsible and productive adults (Proverbs 22:6).

In whatever field of endeavour they find themselves, they need to be leaders indeed. Every child needs to continue in the ways of the Lord as they grow up so they can be kind, honest, complete adults; not bitter, wicked and troubled people. Whenever God wants to change a nation, He allows children to be born.  For example, Moses was born to deliver the children of Israel from slavery. As a parent or care giver, always remember that you are raising the children in your care for the future. Your service is not just for the present time.
