Latest Premiership Transfer Rumors

Tottenham finally set to sign a striker by the name of Leandro Damião while it just goes from bad to worse for Arsenal as they are linked with Kevin Doyle.

Now Chelsea want Samir Nasri, while Galatasaray are sniffing around Arshavin. Scott Dann is the Gunners' big defensive target and Scott Parker says no to Turkey...
SPURS TO FINALLY SIGN A STRIKER
Are Tottenham finally about to sign a cure for their Achilles heel? The Times reckons they are, reporting that 'Tottenham Hotspur' - do you know anyone who ever refers to Spurs by their full name? - are 'increasingly confident that they will win the race to sign Leandro Damião after Internacional accepted that the Brazil striker will be sold'.

But the impression is also that Damiao is one for the future.

'The Brazilian club, who have rejected offers of about £13 million, would prefer the 21-year-old to stay with them until January or, ideally, for another year. Tottenham accepted a similar proposition from Internacional when Sandro, the midfield player, signed in March last year but did not move to White Hart Lane until August. Damião has also been attracting interest from Manchester City, Arsenal and teams in Russia and Ukraine.

'Tottenham have held talks with Mirko Vucinic's representatives but Roma want £18 million for the forward, about £5 million more than the North London club are willing to offer.'

DOWNING TO PUSH FOR LIVERPOOL MOVE
The Sun is getting excited about Stewart Downing again, announcing that the no-tricks occasional winger 'will this week tell new Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish he wants to quit.'

The paper goes on to describe Downing as 'determined to seal a dream £20million move to Liverpool.'

'McLeish is keen to keep Downing, but the player, who has two years left on his contract, is not interested in staying.'

ARSENAL STRUGGLING TO SELL BENDTNER AND YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHO THEY WANT TO SIGN NEXT
There is, inevitably, plenty of chat about the futures of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas on the back pages, but two other stories about the Arsenal are also worth a gossip re-hash. And Arsenal fans of nervous dispositions should look away now because neither makes for encouraging reading.

The first, supplied by The Daily Mail, warns that Arsenal are struggling to offload Nicklas Bendtner. There are plenty of clubs interested in recruiting him - The Mail mention Benfica as the latest, following the lead of Fulham and Bundesliga duo Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund - but 'none of the clubs are willing to match the Gunners valuation of £12m'.

The second is surely a p**s take by The Daily Mirror. Amid the widespread expectation that Fabregas and Nasri will both be departing, the paper claims that 'Arsene Wenger is lining up a £12million bid for Wolves striker Kevin Doyle as Arsenal finally prepare to splash the cash'.

Oh goodness.
