Shaquille O'Neal Joining Turner Sports as NBA Analyst

Shaquille O'Neal is taking his big personality from the NBA court to the NBA desk - the retired champ just signed a deal with Time Warner's Turner Sports to be an analyst across their portfolio of NBA programming. The multi-year deal will begin with the 2011-2012 season, including a full-time gig with TNT's studio show. O'Neal will also cover the network's All-Star Weekend and NBA Playoffs, as well as contribute to both NBA TV and NBA.com. In addition to covering the sports side of things, the Screen Actor's Guild member signed a development deal with Turner's entertainment and animation networks as well. "I can't wait to begin my new career with Turner," O'Neal said in a statement. "Over the past several years the team at Turner has taken the NBA and entertainment, in general, to a whole new level. I'm grateful for the opportunity to join the amazing team at Inside the NBA and I hope I can further the fans experience on a regular basis." O'Neal started with the Orlando Magic in 1992 and later played with the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns and Cleveland Cavaliers before ending his 19- year NBA career with the Boston Celtics in 2011. He won the Rookie of the Year award in 1993 and is ranked fifth all-time in NBA scoring history. The former center is also a 15- time All-Star and a three time All-Star Game MVP and Finals MVP.
