Bolanle, Ex-wife of deposed Deji of Akure dies

A YEAR and 12 days after the former Deji of Akureland, Oba Oluwadare Adepoju was deposed for publicly battering his former wife, Olori Bolanle Adepoju, the Olori has died after a protracted illness.

Vanguard gathered in Akure that Olori Adepoju died at about 4.45am yesterday in a private hospital in Lagos.
It will be recalled that the deceased was manhandled in the public by the deposed Oba Adepoju last year.

This was among the offences that led to his sack  by Kingmakers and the state government in June.

Prince Adepoju was alleged to have stormed the residence of the Olori after she was driven out of the palace and beat her up in public glare.

Sources said after the incident the deceased had been moving in and out of hospital and was even flown abroad for medical treatment recently.

The former Deji was banished to Owo for the first six months and has since been renewed.

He recently travelled abroad for medical treatment after approval from the state government.
The late Olori relocated to Ibadan, in Oyo State where she lived until her death.

Her brother, Mr Johnson Fadeyi who confirmed her death, said Olori Bolanle died at a Lagos hospital.
Fadeyi said the corpse would be moved to Akure and handed over to the community for traditional rite as an Olori. .

The former Oba according to our source has been informed of his former wife's death.
