Mo’Cheddah Gets MTV Push

Mo' is one kid to watch out for.
With dozens of cameos under her belt, a string of successful singles with KnightHouse, and the growing acceptance of her own materials, singer-rapper Mo’Cheddah is no longer the unsure kid you knew years back.
The promising act oozes of positive confidence – both on her materials, and in person. And, if you’re one of those hoping the sisters would step in and give the men some serious challenge, then, very soon, you’ll have Miss Cheddah to thank.
Few weeks after losing the coveted Next Rated prize to Skuki, Mo’Cheddah is now jumping up for joy, with the recent announcement that she’s been chosen as the first-ever beneficiary of MTV base’s newest project ‘Brand:New’.
Her video for “If You Want Me” will go on high rotation on MTV base for the month of July while she’ll feature in a series of MTV base shows including MVP (Most Voted Playlist) and her own Mo Cheddah-themed “Top Ten”, in which she will choose her favorite music videos and talk about their influence and impact on her.
Short vignettes and cameos of  the 19 year old, shot on location in Nigeria, will also feature regularly on MTV base throughout July.   In the digital space, Mo’Cheddah biography, tour dates and links will have a dedicated page on the www.mtvbase.com website and mobile site.
The Brand:New Initiative, according to an MTV release, is targeted at creating a platform for talented artistes to be showcased to the world in line with the network’s commitment to the development and promotion of talent accross the African continent.
A spokesperson for MTV base tells us Mo’Cheddah first came to the attention of MTV base when she featured on three major videos Purple”, “The Finest” and “Capital Drama by Knighthouse”. But the network ‘handpicked’ her following the buzz surrounding her debut solo single (‘if you want me’).
Another single (‘Ko maa roll’) has already been released, with plans to drop her full album in August.
