Exclusive: Why Beyonce Was Absent At Bella Adenuga’s Wedding

Mrs Knowles was lounging in Hawaii on April 24 when everyone thought she'd be jamming in Lagos...
Are you still wondering why the award-winning singer Beyonce Knowles didn’t show up at Bella Adenuga’s wedding after all the hype surrounding her purported coming? Perhaps she changed her mind? Or maybe the bride’s father Mike Adenuga (who sponsored the wedding) cancelled on her? Was she paid the alleged $2Million and still didn’t show up? Maybe some agreements weren’t reached?
Looking beyond the growing doubts and battling questions, our reporter put a call through to Music World Entertainment’s office in Texas. Music World Entertainment is a record label owned by the R&B singer’s father, Matthew Knowles and also in charge of managing Beyonce. Upon connection to the New York office, we spoke with Beyonce’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure of Schure Media who insists the singer ‘was never contacted’ for the engagement.
According to Noel-Schure, in an email conversation, Wednesday May 12, 2010, ‘There was no release ever sent out confirming a performance in Nigeria. As you know Beyonce has performed in Lagos before for the first Thisday event. There are no plans at present that call for her to be in Nigeria, as she is currently off any touring/promotion schedule.’
And also speaking with the managing partner of Paul Wilmot Communications, Mr. Paul Wilmot on the issue, this is what he had to say, ‘I am happy to respond to you…we only work with Ms. Knowles and her mother on their fashion business and do not work on the entertainment part of her career. That being said I can assure you that if indeed she had contracted to perform and the standard mechanisms were in place like contract, fees and travel arrangements she would have gone through with the performance. Ms. Knowles has performed all over the world and recently completed a long tour. We know of no incidence where she cancelled or fail to show up for a concert and suggest that your information is in question.’
So where was Beyonce while many waited for her to step on stage and perform?
NET  investigations revealed that as many kept their hopes high at the Landmark Event Centre, Oniru awaiting the appearance of the sensational R&B singer at the reception on Saturday April 24, 2010, she was on the beach in Hawaii with husband, Jay Z and 5-year-old nephew, Daniel catching some fun with the sand and water.
