Message of the Week: The Power of Resurrection

Kenny Folarin
Three years after Jesus started His ministry, preaching and teaching the good news, He was killed. He died for our sins, but He rose on the third day thus He secured our salvation. This is the bedrock of the Christian faith. The resurrection of Jesus Christ differentiates Him from every other religious crusader. Therefore, as Christian believers, we anchor our faith on the resurrection of Christ, because without His resurrection we will have no hope and we would be of all men most miserable.
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ shows us that He identifies with us. God substituted us for Jesus; He took our place, paid the price and took sin, sickness and poverty away from us. Death could not hold Jesus down so nothing can hold us down because we have access to the power that raised Jesus from the dead. The resurrection of Christ affords us the opportunity to be born again and possess the inheritance allotted to the saints, know the hope of God's calling in our lives and the exceeding greatness of His power towards us who believe.
The challenge for most Christians is the ability to believe and accept that Jesus paid the price on our behalf by dying, and for the fact that He resurrected we are completely absolved of the original sin (Adam's sin). We must believe this scriptural truth or else we will be limited in our ability to enjoy the supernatural authority that accrues to us.
As children of God, we are seated with Christ in heavenly places; we are not ordinary folks because we have the power of the resurrection inside of us. We can do ALL things through Christ. Everything that could have stood against us has been taken away by Christ. COL. 2:13-15. All we need do is surrender to the power of resurrection.
