Obama to Join Clinton on Stage

The two presidents have had a strained relationship in the past.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Campaign officials say President Barack Obama is expected to join Bill Clinton on stage at the Democratic convention.

Obama will be in the arena to watch Clinton deliver the night's headlining address. Clinton is expected to vouch for Obama's economic policies and tie them to the nation's economic success while he was in the White House.
Obama arrived in Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon, but he had not been scheduled to attend the convention's second night of speeches. He will accept his party's nomination Thursday night.
The officials were not authorized to discuss the president's plan publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.
