Spiritual: Befriending the Holy Spirit

Nike Adeyemi
But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He was there with God during creation. He knows the beginning from the end and He knows the future. The Holy Spirit has been described in different ways - a dove, wind, fire - because He cannot be seen physically, but He is a person. He teaches us all things and answers all questions.
Before ascending into heaven, Jesus promised to give us a comforter Who will abide with us forever. The Holy Spirit is our comforter. He is our ticket to a peaceful life. As children of God, we need to actively engage the Holy Spirit in our lives and enjoy the privilege of having Him at our disposal to direct our affairs. It is, however, possible for the Holy Spirit to be dormant in the life of a believer if the believer does not allow Him in, but if invited in, the Holy Spirit will work in and through us and our lives will be better for it.
In these uncertain and perilous times, when the elements and world economies are working against mankind, Christians need, now more than ever, to get closer to the Holy Spirit. He'll deliver you from all the challenges the world will throw at you. Make the Holy Spirit your closest and best ally and your spirit will come alive.
We sometimes forget to call on the Holy Spirit especially over mundane issues, but let's strive to make calling on Him a second nature. Seek Him for direction in all aspects of life - career, academics, marital and social life and other relationships. With His guidance, you can be a blessing to your generation.
