Spiritual Nuggets: GOD KEEPS COVENANTS by Kenny Folarin |

2 Chronicles 6:14

We have established that God’s covenants are trans-generational. Entering into a covenant with God, changes your status for the better. People worship and believe in many false gods but it is only our God who has the capacity to keep His covenant with us. He is called Jehovah. There is not god in heaven or on the earth who is like Him. He created all things and He has always existed. God is the superior party in our covenant relationship and He initiated the covenant because He wants the best for us. When God cut a covenant with man, He decided to give man an absolute assurance that whatever He promises us, He will fulfil. Therefore, God swore by Himself to convince us that all He has promised is a done deal (Hebrews 6:13-19). Be assured that whatever God has promised you will come to pass. When you understand the covenant you have with God, you will not worry or fret about your future or current circumstance.

If you have a covenant with God, you must believe in His resurrection ability. God’s word has creative power. God is able to bring back to life those things which appear dead because around God, there is no death (Hebrews 11: 17- 19). God’s promises are “Yes and Amen” (2 Corinthians 1: 20). Until God’s counsel is fulfilled, it is not yet the end. His word will never change but your circumstances will have to change to conform to His word. Always trust God’s prophecies to you much more than your current circumstances (Jeremiah 32: 27). Know God’s word and promises until they become very real to you. Always believe that with God, nothing will be impossible (Luke 1: 37).

You should get to the stage where in the midst of storms and tribulation, you are very calm on the inside. This kind of calmness in the soul can only come from absolute trust in God’s word. After hearing God’s word or reading your Bible, faith in God’s word and confidence in His ability to deliver you from calamity should set you apart from someone who does not believe in God or someone who has not got a relationship with Him. Unbelief limits God’s ability to work in your life because even Jesus could not do any mighty miracles in His own country because of their unbelief (Mark 6: 5). God is not a man that He should lie. Always believe God’s word in spite of the negative thoughts which are bombarding your mind (Numbers 23:19). Whenever you are faced with a challenging circumstance, speak God’s word instead of proclaiming the obvious (Isaiah 55: 8- 11). The more we understand the importance and relevance of our covenant relationship with God, the easier walking in faith becomes and our lives are better for it.
