Kevin Hart's Laugh at My Pain in Theaters Soon

The short black comedian reveals source of comedic inspiration.
Kevin Hart is small, but he's making a huge impact in entertainment. His 2011 Laugh at My Pain comedy tour has earned over $15 million in ticket sales, which surpasses Eddie Murphy 's record of being the first African- American comedian to garner over $1.1 million in a two-day live comedy show.

Hart's successful 90 -city tour culminated at Los Angeles Live's Nokia Theater and the cameras were rolling. Laugh at My Pain is part documentary, part comedy. Viewers get an in-depth look at Hart's Philadelphia roots, where he displays his old neighborhood and chats with family and people who helped shape him to be the man he is today. Hart, who hosted the 2011 BET Awards , has a story filled with heartache, hence the title of his routine. He uses personal struggles, like his short stature and his dad's substance abuse, as material.

Laugh at My Pain will be in theaters nationwide on Sept. 9.
