In preparation for Nigeria's biggest youth event The Future Awards 2012 set to take place on Sunday 26th August 2012, the Central Working Committee for the renowned award show has announced its town hall meeting in June.
The town hall meeting will be hosted by Taruwa – an organisation for young professionals committed to nation building, the British Council's Creative Enterprise Series and Co-Creation Hub, Lagos.
Ohimai Atafo (Nigerian Fashion designer/Chairman of Central Working Committee) sheds more light on the town hall meeting, saying "This is yet another innovation from Nigeria's most respected youth platform. The idea is to have a town hall meeting targeted at the broad sectors that the awards is interested in. You will remember that this year's categories were segmented into Innovation, Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Entertainment and Excellence in Public Service and these town halls are focused on these".
On Tuesday 26th June 2012, the Taruwa/The Future Awards entertainment and creative town hall meeting will hold at the Bogobiri House, 9 Maitama Sule Street, off Raymond Njoku Street, off Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos by 6:30 PM. Themed "Hope and Courage", the meeting will feature performances which tallies with the theme of this year's award "Tear down these walls" because it is impossible to tear down any kind of wall without hope and courage.
