Emotion, grief as ‘Last Flight To Abuja’ premiered in London

It was an evening of grief as celebrities  from all walks of life who gathered at  Troxy Cinema in East London, last weekend,  for  the  premiere  of Obi Emelonye’s “Last Flight to Abuja”, observed one-minute silence in memory of victims of the ill-fated Dana plane crash, in Lagos.
Incidentally, the movie, starring Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Jim Iyke, Hakeem Kae-Kazim,  Gozie Ekeha among others  has its concept and inspiration driven from the series of tragedies that rocked the nation’s aviation sector in 2006.
According to the producer,ït’s unfortuante that plane crashes occurred before the premiere of the movie. He however dedicated the movie to  the memory of all who lost their lives in the two ill-fated crashes that involved Allied Air and Dana Air, penultimate   Sunday, in Accra and Lagos.

The premiere,  had in attendance the cast of the film including Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Jim Iyke, Gozie Ekeh and Ali Nuhu. Ambassador O.K. Lawal, the Deputy High Commissioner to the court of St James represented Nigerian government at the event.
The producer also replaced the end credits of the film with a poignant scroll of the names on the Dana Air manifest.
The high point of the premiere was the screening of the film which was described as the new benchmark in Nollywood; with the exquisite special effects and the quality of computer generated imagery ever witnessed in Nigeria’s  cinema.
