NKEM OWOH, MONALISA CHINDA, DESMOND ELLIOT LIGHT UP KENYA

On Thursday, May 26 , 2011 , the students of the United States International University (USIU) enjoyed an interactive literary night with visiting Nollywood stars that were in the country to promote the activities of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council . The NEPC in partnership with the Nigerian High Commission have embarked on a road show to promote Nollywood movies in Kenya . Accompanied by High Commisioner Chijioke Wilcox Wigwe , the stars – Sam Loco , Francis Duru , Patience Ozokwor , Desmond Eliot , Monilisa Chinda , Uche Jumbo and John Okafor – interacted with students and even watched together the award-winning play 'Angels in the Darkness' which is written by the university's theatre group, Michezo Africa . The Nollywood stars were very impressed. 'This is a very good play and trust me, if they keep up with this they will surely be taking Kenyan theatre to a different level', Francis Duru said. The stars had earlier visited the University of Nairobi where they also had an interactive session with the students from the faculty of Arts and Humanities and the School of Journalism and later in the afternoon addressed drama club members at Brookhouse Performing Arts School . The Stars will be in the country until Tuesday. While in Kenya, they will also visit Hell's Gate in Naivasha and other interesting sites in Nairobi. But on Friday, May 27 , 2011 , the students at Brookside School were disappointed after the Nollywood stars showed up late. However the actors interacted with the music students who were holding a musical play at the school's auditorium. Meanwhile Patience Ozokwor popularly known as Mama G is said to have lost her phone on Sunday during the 'Oga night' at Safari Park . It is not clear how she lost the phone.
