Rihanna turns down Bodyguard role

A few weeks ago, Variety reported there would be a remake of the classic 1992 film, The Bodyguard. While it's unknown who will take over Whitney Houston's role, we know who has already declined: Rihanna! The pop princess told OK Magazine, "I hate it when singers do singing movies all the time because you can never look at them as anybody else." She feels that since she is already a singer, portraying a singer would not be a "challenge" and looks forward to "being able to step into somebody else's shoes" in upcoming films.

In related news, Rihanna will appear opposite Liam Neeson in a sci-fi flick called Battleship, which will open next year.
