Not only is Janet Jackson married to a billionaire, she's also a 10-figure money maker herself. According to Variety, a tally of the 47-year-old’s earnings from her successful concert tours ($458 million), films like For Colored Girls and The Nutty Professor ($304 million), album sales ($260 million), and sponsorship deals ($81 million) has her exceeding the one billion dollar milestone.
This past February, Janet informed the world that she married fashion tycoon Wissam Al Mana in a hush-hush ceremony. Al Mana is a shareholder in Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait; and director of Al Mana Retail.
Surprisingly, despite her late brother’s massive success, King of Pop Michael Jackson never reached the billion dollar mark. The few who have include Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, J.K. Rowling and Madonna, who was recently inducted after her last tour.
As for Ms. Jackson, she has no plans to stop raking in the dough. The singer confirmed that she is “working on a new project.”
