Nelly decided
to set a few people straight on rumors surrounding his love life and
finances. Allegations have been swirling that the St.Louis rapper hit up
his on again-off again boo thang Ashanti for $500K when he was
experiencing financial difficulties, but the two fell out when he never
paid her back.
Nelly hit up Baltimore’s 92Q radio station this week to shut down the rumors:
“It could be my mama, if she owed me half a million dollars, she better recognize…” he joked on ‘The KO Show’.“There’s things and rumors about every artist at some point… and if they’re not talking about you then you’re not worth talking about,” he added.
Lastly,
when the host asked about his 10+ year relationship with Ashanti (that
he still refuses to claim) he kept up the mystery. After the radio
personality mentioned seeing photos the couple spending time around St. Louis recently, Nelly responded:
“We’re pretty cool.”
