Display of Shame as Bode George is Released.

Bode George, erstwhile and convicted chairman of Nigeria Port Authority was being released from jail after serving out his 2 year jail sentence. Ordinarily this would not attract any attention but for the pomp and fanfare that was displayed by some shameless people as if he was returning from somewhere other than jail; PDP flags flying all over the place and I gather that even Mr President has said his party, the PDP, sent a high powered delegation to welcome him. This has shown that neither Jonathan or PDP is interested in stamping out corruption in this country. It is clear now that only the citizens of this country can free themselves from the shackles of corruption and under-development. Tell everybody you know to do whatever they can to legitimately to frustrate this shameless display of insensitivity. Educate people in your neighbourhood that this is wrong and must not be allowed to pass. The message these vipers are sending to the youth of this country is that corruption pays and it is ok to steal public funds and abuse positions of trust. We cannot let this message be passed without doing what we can to show that it is wrong. God Bless Nigeria.

Twitter Battles: Rihanna and Ciara

Sometimes when celebrities behave badly, it is awesome. Like the Twitter war that went on between Ciara and Rihanna. It all started when Rihanna apparently ignored Ciara during the NBA allstars game last weekend. But then Ciara went on Joan Rivers' TV show and talked smacked. Which led us to Twitter awesomeness…

Of course, the back story is useful. According to MediaTakeout:

So we know what you're wondering . . . WHY WAS RIHANNA acting shady towards Ciara during All Star Weekend. Well according to a MediaTakeOut.com snitch, Rihanna was in the VIP section of LeBron James and Jay Z's two king's party, along with other celebs and LeBron's fiance Savannah. Well word is that Ciara, who is one of LeBron's many JUMPOFFS, tried to make her way into the VIP section. Rihanna (andmany other celebs) thought that it was very CLASSLESS and DISRESPECTFUL for Ciara to invade Savannah's space like that. And they all shunned CiCi.

If that's the case, it makes sense that RiRi wasn't so polite. But more importantly, Ciara airing her grievances to Joan Rivers was lame. Watch the vid:

And it's understandable that Rihanna would be annoyed. But her Twitter responses are awesome.

And Obafemi did it for Birmingham City's 2-1 win over Arsenal

Obafemi Martins pounced on a calamitous Arsenal defensive mix-up two minutes from time as Birmingham City claimed their first major silverware since 1963 by winning the Carling Cup at Wembley.

Martins, on loan from Rubin Kazan, took advantage of a fatal communication breakdown between Gunners goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and defender Laurent Koscielny to strike the late blow that clinched victory for Blues boss Alex McLeish and his men, sending their supporters into ecstasy.

The striker, on as substitute for Keith Fahey, had the simplest of chances after Koscielny attempted to clear when Szczesny came to collect Nikola Zigic's tame header to extend the north Londoners' six-year wait for a trophy.

Zigic gave Birmingham a first-half lead but Robin van Persie's spectacular volley restored parity before the interval in an enthralling Wembley final.

In contrast to the crestfallen figure of Szczesny, Birmingham were indebted to their keeper Ben Foster - penalty shoot-out hero of Manchester United's win in this competition in 2009 - for a magnificent display that rightly earned him the man-of-the match award.

Foster was outstanding throughout, denying Samir Nasri on three occasions and also saving splendidly from Andrey Arshavin and Nicklas Bendtner.

Birmingham, who also hit the woodwork through Fahey, were a model of determination and resilience as well as positive intent and their success is a tribute to the outstanding work of manager McLeish.

Defender Roger Johnson was another commanding figure and all the bravery displayed by him and his team-mates in the face of a late Arsenal onslaught was rewarded in sensational circumstances in the dying moments.

Arsenal, robbed of captain Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott through injury, never hit the heights and that moment of defensive madness means Wenger has still not laid his hands on a trophy since winning the FA Cup against Manchester United in 2005.

Worlds Most Expensive Tie $220,000

At the time, the tie cost Rs 1 crore, which equals 100 lakhs, which also equals 10 million rupees. I guess that's the Indian monetary system's way of keeping things simple? No matter how you cut it, 10 million rupees is approximately $220,000 and that's one hell of a tie.

Although it doesn't look very fashionable, believe me, in India it gets you mad dowry, son.

Beyonce Goes Black for Fela

Just like her husband, Jay Z who proudly invested so much into the Fela on the Broadway project, Africa-American star, Beyonce Knowles has also honoured Afro beat king, Fela Anikulapo Kuti in the 'spirit' of glamour and 'Africanness'.

Beyonce is featured on the cover of L'officiel magazine march edition looking darker and pumping the attire of a complete African woman. It would be recalled that Jayz, actor Will smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith reportedly invested about $1 million USD into the News York production of Fela on the Broadway.

This is a great touch and most people are proud that International stars are keeping alive the memories of Fela, the great music legend who fought against looting of funds by public office holders and their associates. Fela arrested and beaten several times for daring to speak against misrule and injustice. His house was burnt and his mother died as a result of one of the invasions of soldiers to his home in 1978. Fela Died in 1997  and his son, Femi has taken over from where he stopped. Though many believe that Femi is less outspoken compared to his father, he has built a multimillion Naira New Afrikan Shrine where thousands of Afro beat lovers go. Fela's sister, Yeni Kuti is the Chief Executive of Felabration, an annual week to celebrate the remembrance .

FC Copenhagen 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea eased the pressure on manager Carlo Ancelotti as they cruised to a win over Copenhagen in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie.

Nicolas Anelka seized on a misplaced pass from ex-Blues winger Jesper Gronkjaer to fire the visitors ahead.

The Premier League club added to their lead when Frank Lampard's reverse pass found Anelka and he drove in a second.

Ancelotti's men were dominant but £50m striker Fernando Torres could not register his first goal for the club.

It was all too easy for Chelsea as the lacklustre Danish champions looked every bit like a team that had not played a competitive game since 7 December because of their league's winter break.

With the visitors desperate to keep alive their Champions League hopes after being knocked out of the FA Cup last Saturday and their chances of defending their Premier League crown seemingly over, Copenhagen had a chance to add to Chelsea's misery.

Instead, a timid home side stood off their opponents and the Blues were too good not to take advantage and earn a commanding lead for the return leg at Stamford Bridge on 16 March.

Jennifer Hudson on weight loss

Jennifer Hudson had no problem with her body -- but she's even happier now.

The "Dream Girls" star appeared on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" on Wednesday to discuss, among many things, her dramatic weight loss success story. Not that she's been shy about it -- Hudson is a national spokeswoman for Weight Watchers, having gone from a size 16 to a size 6.

"I just knew, after I had my baby, I just wanted my body back. Whatever body that was," she explained of her decision to lose the weight. "And then I realized [that] when I was pregnant, I was like, 'Man, I was wearing the same clothes I was wearing before I was pregnant.' That was kind of like a wake up call and I wanted to set a good example for my son."

Still, while the weight loss was exciting, Hudson said it doesn't define her.

"I was very comfortable. It wasn't that I couldn't do it, I just didn't see anything wrong with it. I still don't. I liked who I was then, and I like who I am now."

Still, following the initial weight loss, Hudson said she lost 20 more pounds, an impressive achievement.

Last week, Hudson appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" to discuss the tragic murder of her family members.

Matt and Rihanna romance Brews

Matt Kemp and Rihanna had a whirlwind romance…They were hot and heavy and then things cooled down when allegations of cheating surfaced on both sides..The two split back in early December and shut it down completely for several weeks…They started talking eventually and slowly started seeing each other again, but this time around, I'm being told they are keeping it under wraps…

Matt Kemp received a ton of negative attention over his relationship effecting his on-field performance…Kemp was interviewed on 710ESPN Los Angeles the other day where he was asked about Rihanna..He answered in present tense.."Ri is a great person, a great motivator, somebody that I love dearly and she help me to become a better person. My personal relationship has nothing to do with what I do on the field" My source tells me they are definitely dating again and are going to try their damnedest to keep a lid on it this time around.

Good for them if this is true…

Berlusconi slammed with charges yet again

Often the subject of international punchlines and tabloid fodder, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's troubles took a turn for the serious today when he was ordered to stand trial on charges he paid a 17-year-old Moroccan dancer nicknamed Ruby for sex, and then used his political influence to cover it up.

Though he's publicly slammed the charges, the oft-beleaguered Berlusconi could be barred permanently from public office if convicted, the Associated Press is reporting. Though his latest trial won't begin until April 6, the 74-year-old Italian premier is no stranger to legal battles, with his first well-publicized case dating back to mid-1994, shortly after he first entered politics that January.
