When you hear or see the name, Jimmie Akinsola, think Entertainment, think Sports.
Jimmie is a dedicated Arsenal fan, he admires the class and quality of their game. In fact, class and quality is a running theme for Jimmie. His favourite footballer of all time is Thierry Henry. He admires Henry because he sees him as a phenomenal player. Henry also played for Arsenal and is possibly the best goal scorer of all time. Jimmie admires the way Henry carries himself, that calm but purposeful demeanour that sets so many female hearts a-flutter, and that grounded eloquence, which Jimmie himself identifies with.
Currently a Sports Desk Manager and Presenter, he airs daily on Beat FM and Classic FM, channelling his energy and using his suave voice to reach out to those who love Sports and convert the Sport non-believers. He started out in the Sports Media world more than eight years ago when he auditioned and made such an impression that he became TV Producer and Presenter of a few sports-related shows; Godwin Dudu Orumen's The Best of Football and Lucozade Boost Sports Reel.
In 2003 , Jimmie achieved the NTA Youngest TV Producer Award and was a nominee of the Best On-Air Personality of the Year [TV] Award this year. Jimmie's future goal is to bring the quality of international broadcasting to Nigeria and he knows that the way to make this happen is to take the lead. He plans to become the best Sports Broadcaster in Nigeria within a year or two and eventually the best all-round Broadcaster in Nigeria. Jimmie is not too far from reaching his goals penning sports columns for Hi Magazine and also MCing at various events.
A go-getter and one who does not shy away from putting in more than the necessary work required. Jimmie's story has just begun.
