Snoop Attempts to Set Record For Most Retweets

Snoop Dogg will attempt to enter into the Guinness Book of World Records by gaining the most re-tweets, after reaching 4 million followers. Snoop Dogg will attempt to break an unofficial record that was set by Reverend Run in early 2010 , after his daily Words of Wisdom came to prominence. Starting tomorrow (August 23 rd), Snoop Dogg will send out his message for fans to re-tweet between 12 :00 AM that morning an12 :00 AM the following Wednesday.

"Hitting four million Twizzles is a big moment for me and I want to thank all my fans for their continued support," Snoop Dogg told AllHipHop.com in a statement today (August 24 th). "I want to show the world how powerful and influential social media and my fans are, which is why I am attempting to set the world record for the most 'retweets' on Twitter ." Snoop will promote the campaign on a variety of popular social networks including Twitter, Ustream and Facebook, in conjunction with his weekly #PuffPuffPassTuesdays series.

Snoop Dogg has frequently been an early adopter of various technologies over the years. Through a deal with Adly, the rapper frequently promotes various brands through his social media channels. In March of 2011 , the New York Times labeled him one of the Top 10 influencers on Twitter.
