Goodluck Johnathan has secured the PDP presidential ticket by winning the presidential primaries at the Peoples Democratic Party PDP 2011 Special National Convention which was just concluded at 6am this morning.
Chairman of the electoral primary, Prof. Tunde Adeniran announced Goodluck as the winner representing 77.7% of total votes casted after he polled a total of 2736 votes over the other contestants former vice president Atiku Abubakar and Sarah Jubril who had a total of 805 and 1 votes respectively.
‘We thank God for making this day possible. I thank all the delegates to thisconvention, the confidence you have imposed in me; I assure you that I will never let you down‘ read Goodluck when he was called out to deliver a speech after he was announced winner.
After declaring the Vice President of the country, Namadi Sambo as his running mate in the forthcoming presidential elections, Goodluck also implored the other contestants who had just lost out to come on board as he would like Nigeria to be built upon collective interests.
