AKON RINGS IN THE NEW YEAR WITH TWO FREE CONCERTS FOR 500,000 FANS AT THE WORLD FESTIVAL OF BLACK ARTS & CULTURAL IN SENEGAL – WEST AFRICA
Dakar, Senegal (3rd January 2011) – International super star Akon headlined two free concerts in St Louis on New Years Eve and then on the 1st of January in Dakar Senegal for the closing of the Black Arts and Culture Festival, which is the largest gathering to date of black artists, writers, film makers, intellectuals, scientists and other luminaries and has been held twice before, in 1966 and 1977. The theme of the 2010 festival is African Renaissance.
His home coming message was AFRICAN UNITY; over 500000 fans attended the Dakar free concert breaking all records for a live show in Senegal.
