Lupe Fiasco won't back down from Obama comment

Lupe Fiasco's been taking some heat for his recent comments about President Barack Obama. In a new interview, the controversial rapper refused to distance himself from the inflammatory remarks. "I've got nothing to clarify," Lupe told Billboard magazine. On Wednesday, Fiasco caused a furor by calling the president a terrorist. "To me, the biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States of America," he said in an interview with CBS.com. Speaking to Billboard yesterday, Lupe was steadfast in his sentiment. "It's Obama and the U.S. government. [It's] every president that came before him and every president that comes after him," he said. Lupe went on to complain that the news media wasn't paying enough attention to the non-terrorist portions of his original interview. "It's funky because everybody's pulling soundbites from this one interview that we did, but they don't talk about anything else from the interview," he said. "So it's really about, 'What do people want to listen to?' It's not what I want to talk about, cause I want to talk about all types of s---... there wasn't the same reaction about me having a book club... about me trying to promote literacy in a country with 50 million functioning illiterates walking around, because we have a failed and flawed education system." Throughout the original interview Lu responds to critics, while comparing himself to Malcom X, Huey Newton, Bob Marley and John Brown.
