Ciara got a surprise on stage Saturday night, and it wasn't the pleasant kind. The "Body Party" singer was served with legal papers in the middle of a performance, TMZ reports.
The lawsuit comes from Ciara's failure to appear at a Los Angeles, California night club for an engagement on Friday night. L.A.'s The Factory claims the singer pulled out of her commitment to perform at the venue because of contractual conflicts with a gay pride event she was doing on Saturday night, but had still committed to make an appearance. When she failed to show up altogether, the club decided to take a legal route to recoup their losses.
Reps for the singer say she informed The Factory of her schedule change a week before the date but that they continued to promote it anyway.
As for the legal papers, TMZ reports that Ciara threw them right back at the process server who handed them to her.
