Chris Brown ran into some trouble while en route to the Met Gala last night thanks to an engine fire on his private jet. TMZ reports that Breezy was on his way to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey when smoke in the cockpit grounded him momentarily.
The smell of smoke emerged less than 10 minutes into the flight, causing the aircraft to turn around and make an emergency landing back at Burbank Airport in Southern California. "It was a lot of smoke … everywhere," said a witness.
While the pilot handled the situation with ease, the passengers were understandably shaken up by the whole ordeal. As for Brown, a small emergency wasn't enough to keep him in one place. Instead of staying in L.A., the 24-year-old hopped another East Coast-bound private jet, roughly an hour later.
By the time he arrived in New York City, the Virginia native was too late to attend the Gala, where Kanye West performed, but the night wasn't a total loss. The newly single crooner touched down in time to attend the after-party.
