Satellite television operators MultiChoice Africa and media conglomerate Walt Disney have announced that they have collaborated to launch Disney XD Channel on the DStv platform. The announcement was made on Thursday, May 12, 2011.
Disney XD, a spin-off of Disney Channel, mostly airs action-oriented children’s animated television series, with some live-action programming and movies. The new DStv channel will be made available to DStv Premium, DStv Compact and DStv Compact Plus subscribers on channel 304.
Disney XD will be the second kiddies channel from Walt Disney on the Dstv platform following the girl-focused Disney Channel on channel 303.
