Mandla Maphumulo, Sbusiso Khomo and Mzingisi Mkhwananzi have come out and declared that they are single and available.
They admitted that there wasn’t much umlilo when it comes to the ladies.
The talented musos, whose hit single Umlilo has been enjoying high rotation on local radio stations across South Africa, won four Samas last month. Their third album, Undisputed, was released last year and scooped top honours at the event.
They admitted that their first two albums did not do well and that as struggling musicians they could not attract women. But that might change now, thanks to their recent success.
“We are unfortunately single and available. And this is not only because we don’t have time on our hands, but also because we lived and dedicated our whole lives to music ,” said Maphumulo, aka Mampintsha.
“We started at a young age and had no money. No woman would have hooked up with any one of us at the tim e,” Khomo said.
While in Joburg, they worked part time and spent their earnings on transport. Born in Umlazi, KwaZulu- Natal, they said the road to success had been rocky.
Khomo said things had changed for the better since they signed up with DJ Tira’s record label.
